Nesting and editing save the most space
Luggage takes up a lot of room for something you use only a few times a year. The first step is editing: broken wheels, torn zippers, duplicate carry-ons and bags from a past job often take more space than the luggage you actually use. We help you choose a working set and pass along the rest.
Then we nest. Smaller bags go inside larger ones, and packing cubes, garment bags and travel pillows fill the gaps. A family's full luggage collection can often fit in half the space once it is nested and stored upright.
Where luggage should live in a Las Vegas home
In many homes, luggage goes straight to the garage, and in most of the country that works. In Las Vegas, extreme summer heat in the garage can damage luggage over time: plastic shells can warp, zippers and wheels can degrade, and leather or fabric can dry out. Dust also settles into bags left open.
We usually recommend an indoor spot such as a high closet shelf, an under-stair closet or a guest room closet. If the garage is the only option, we choose the coolest spot and use covers or bags. Our page on under-stair storage organization shows how we use that space for bulky, occasional items.
| Item | Best storage spot |
|---|---|
| Everyday carry-ons | Primary closet high shelf, nested |
| Large checked bags | Under-stair closet, guest closet or garage overhead |
| Garment bags | Hanging in a guest or hall closet |
| Golf and ski travel bags | Garage overhead rack or high shelf |
| Packing cubes, pillows, adapters | Inside the luggage or a labeled bin |
A ready-to-go travel kit
Frequent travelers get the most from a pre-packed kit. We set up a toiletry bag with travel-sized essentials, a tech pouch with chargers, adapters and headphones, and a folder for passports and travel documents. Each lives in a single labeled bin or inside your carry-on, ready to grab.
For families, a kit per person keeps everyone's essentials separate. We also keep a short restock list so you can refill after each trip.

Las Vegas travelers have a few specific needs
Las Vegas is a travel hub, and many residents fly frequently for work, visit family in California or elsewhere, or split time between homes. Second-home owners and part-time residents benefit from a simple, duplicated travel kit in each home so they do not pack basics every trip. Our second home organization page explains how we set that up.
Military families at Nellis AFB and frequent business travelers also benefit from having luggage and travel documents easy to grab on short notice. Passports and important documents should be stored indoors and protected; our guide to organizing important documents covers that.
Cost and how this fits in a bigger project
Luggage organizing is a smaller job, usually one or two hours. Most clients add it to a closet, guest room or garage session within a four-hour block starting around $600. If luggage storage is part of a full garage or whole-home project, it fits into a full-day plan around $1,200. Our custom storage organization service covers creative storage for bulky items like this.
