We organize by medium first, then by project
Crafters often have several hobbies, and each one has its own tools and supplies. We group by medium first: sewing, paper crafts, painting, knitting, jewelry making, Cricut or vinyl work. Within each medium, supplies are sorted by type and size so you can see exactly what you have.
Active projects get their own bins, each holding everything that project needs. That way you can pick up where you left off without pulling apart the whole room.
The editing conversation is the heart of the session
Craft supplies are full of good intentions, and it is easy to keep materials for a hobby you have moved on from. We sort everything and let you decide what stays, with no pressure. Many clients choose to pass along supplies to schools, teachers, community groups or local donation centers; options in the valley include Goodwill of Southern Nevada and Habitat for Humanity ReStore for some items.
Dried-out markers, separated paint and brittle glue sticks are usually easy decisions once they are all in one pile.
Heat-sensitive supplies need indoor homes in Las Vegas
Many craft supplies do not tolerate Las Vegas heat well. Acrylic and oil paints, glues, resins, candle and soap-making wax, vinyl, adhesive sheets and some fabrics can be damaged if stored in a garage or a sunny closet in summer. We move them into the interior of the house and away from windows that catch afternoon sun.
Paper, photos and finished artwork are also sensitive to heat and light. If your craft room has a large window, we keep paper stock and memory-keeping supplies in closed storage. Our guide on storing paint and chemicals in desert heat covers the materials that need the most care.

The zones we build in a craft room
A craft room works like a small studio, with a place to work, a place to store and a place to finish.
- Work surface kept clear, with the most-used tools in a caddy or pegboard within reach
- Supply storage by medium in clear, labeled bins or drawers
- Fabric folded to a uniform size and filed upright so every piece is visible
- Yarn in clear bins by weight or color
- Project bins for works in progress
- A finishing and packing area for gifts, orders or completed pieces
Craft rooms that also serve as offices or guest rooms
In many Las Vegas homes the craft room shares space with a home office, a guest bed or a loft. We use closed cabinets, rolling carts and closet systems so supplies can be tucked away when the room needs to switch roles. If the room is also a business, such as an Etsy shop or custom orders, our home-based business organization service adds inventory and shipping workflows.
For a DIY approach, see our guide on how to organize a craft room. If the room shares space with a desk, our home office organization service can be part of the same visit. Large craft rooms with years of supplies usually take a full day, around $1,200.
