Long-time homes need a gentle edit first
Sun City Summerlin opened in the late 1980s, and some residents have lived in the same house for a very long time. Cabinets hold several generations of kitchenware, closets hold clothes from different decades and the spare room keeps paperwork that has never been sorted.
We begin with one manageable space, often a hall closet or the kitchen, so progress is visible quickly. Each category is gathered, reviewed with you and returned in a simpler arrangement. Nothing leaves without your agreement. Our decluttering services are designed around that kind of steady, respectful pace.
Setting up the house for aging in place
Single-level homes are a big part of what draws people to Sun City, and the right storage makes them even easier to live in. The aim is to keep daily items reachable without bending low or climbing.
We move everyday dishes to the upper drawers and lower shelves of upper cabinets, put heavy pans in pull-outs, and clear the path from the bedroom to the bathroom. Medications and health supplies get one labeled, easy-to-find home. Our guide on organizing a home for aging in place describes the full checklist.
- Most-used items between waist and shoulder height
- Clear, wide walkways with no floor storage
- Large, readable labels on bins and shelves
- A single spot for keys, glasses, phone and mail
When adult children are helping a parent
We often hear from sons and daughters who live out of state and want help supporting a parent in Sun City Summerlin. We can include you on planning calls and share photos of keepsakes that need a family decision, while the homeowner stays in charge of what stays.
If the home is being cleared after a loss, we approach the work with care and without rushing. Our page on estate organizing after a loss explains how we sort, document and prepare items for family, donation or sale.

Downsizing within the valley or beyond
Some residents move to a smaller home, assisted living or closer to family. We help measure the new space, decide which furniture fits, pack with clear labels and unpack on the other end.
Donations can go to well-known local organizations such as Opportunity Village, the Salvation Army and the Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas ReStore. We stage and label everything; transport is handled by movers or vendors we can coordinate. Read more about our senior move organizer support.
Practical details for a Sun City Summerlin project
Our team drives over from our studio in Cadence, Henderson, as we do for every community on our service areas list. Sessions can be shorter if long days are tiring; a focused session starts around $600 with a four-hour minimum. Full days, which suit a garage or several rooms, typically run around $1,200.
Garage projects are scheduled from mid-October through April, since a garage in summer is too hot to work in safely and too hot for many stored items. During those projects we bring photographs, candles, paint and electronics indoors where the temperature is steady.
Many residents also have a golf cart sharing the garage, which means the walls do most of the storage work. We keep the cart lane clear, put the items you reach for weekly along the side nearest the house door and label overhead bins so a step stool is only needed a few times a year.
