You are moving toward a lifestyle, so organize for it
People move to the valley's 55+ communities for golf, clubs, fitness, pools and neighbors, not for storage. The homes tend to be single-level with simpler floor plans than a family house, which is the point.
We start with how you plan to spend your days. If golf is the reason for the move, the garage needs a proper spot for clubs, carts or bags. If you paint, quilt or do woodworking, a spare room or part of the garage becomes a studio. If grandkids visit, a guest room and a toy bin earn their space.
Choosing what comes with you
Many buyers come from a larger home in the valley, or from out of state, and cannot bring everything. We review the new floor plan, measure closets and rooms, and help you choose furniture and belongings that fit the space and the life you want there.
You make every decision, and items going to family or donation are kept separate so they never reach the moving truck. Our downsizing organizer page covers the sorting stage in detail.
Garages in active adult communities do a lot of work
In many 55+ homes, the garage holds the car, golf gear, bikes, pool supplies, tools and seasonal decor, and some residents also park a golf cart there. That is a lot for a two-car garage, so zones and wall or ceiling storage matter.
Las Vegas heat limits what should live there. Keep wine, photos, candles, electronics and pantry food indoors. Hands-on garage organizing runs from mid-October through April. Our golf equipment storage organization page has more on one of the most common categories.
- Golf zone: bags upright, shoes and balls in labeled bins, cart charging area kept clear
- Hobby zone: supplies in clear bins on shelves, a fold-down or rolling work surface
- Travel zone: luggage and travel kits on an upper shelf, ready to grab
- Pool and patio: towels, floats and sunscreen near the door to the yard
- Holiday decor: a few labeled bins, heat-tolerant items only

Setting up a home that stays easy to live in
We place everyday items at comfortable heights so the home is easy to use day to day: daily dishes in a cabinet near the dishwasher, heavier pots in lower drawers, and frequently worn clothes at eye level in the closet. Our guide on organizing a home for aging in place explains the thinking.
Kitchens in these homes are often smaller, so we use drawer dividers, shelf risers and turntables to make every cabinet count. We source products to fit and return anything unused.
Communities we commonly help movers into
Sun City Summerlin, in the northwest valley, and Sun City Anthem, in Henderson, are two of the best-known 55+ communities in the area, and there are others across the valley. Our studio is in Henderson, and we schedule around your closing, your movers' delivery date and any community move-in requirements your HOA sets.
See our pages for Sun City Summerlin and Sun City Anthem for more on each community.

What it costs
Help with a 55+ move starts around $600 for a four-hour minimum. A typical full day of packing or unpacking starts around $1,800, and most 55+ moves with sorting, packing and unpacking take several sessions in total.
We recommend a plan, team size and timeline after a free consultation, and we can split the work across your old and new homes.
