A ready nursery is organized for one-handed use in the dark
New parents spend a lot of time in the nursery holding a baby with one arm. Everything needed for a change, a feed or an outfit swap should be reachable without walking across the room or opening a high cabinet. We plan the room around that reality first and the aesthetics second, though it should look lovely too.
That means diapers, wipes, creams and a spare outfit at the changing station, burp cloths and a water bottle at the chair, and the next size of clothing waiting in a labeled bin rather than in a shower-gift bag in the closet.
What a nursery session covers
We work through the whole room, including the closet:
- Unboxing shower and registry gifts and breaking down the packaging
- Sorting clothes by size from newborn upward, with labeled bins for sizes still to come
- Setting up the changing station and drawer dividers for diapers, wipes and creams
- Organizing the closet with small hangers, shelf dividers and a bin for outgrown items
- Storing blankets, swaddles, sheets and burp cloths where you can grab them
- Creating a spot for books, toys and keepsakes
- Labeling so a partner, grandparent or sitter can find things too
Sorting baby clothes by size is the biggest time saver
Babies outgrow sizes fast, and gifts often arrive in sizes they will not wear for months. Sorting everything into labeled bins by size, then hanging or folding only the current size, saves you from discovering a drawer of outfits that no longer fit.
We also set up an outgrown bin in the closet. When something gets too small, it goes straight in, ready to be stored for a sibling, passed to a friend or donated. Our guide on organizing baby clothes by size explains the method in detail.

Las Vegas nurseries: heat, dust and growing families
Summer sun is intense here, and nurseries on a west-facing side of the house warm up in the afternoon. We keep diapers, creams, wipes and any baby products that dislike heat away from sunny windows and never in the garage. Fine desert dust settles on open shelves quickly, so we suggest lidded bins for spare linens and seldom-used clothes.
Plenty of families in Henderson, Summerlin and the newer southwest valley communities are moving into larger homes as they grow, sometimes right before a baby arrives. If you are still unpacking, we can set up the nursery first as part of a larger unpacking service. For military families at Nellis Air Force Base, where a new baby and a new assignment can overlap, nursery setup can be folded into the move-in plan.
Nursery organizing cost
Most nurseries fit in a four-hour session starting around $600. If you also want the playroom, a sibling's room or the primary closet reorganized to make space, a full day starting around $1,200 with an eight-hour minimum often makes sense. Bins, drawer dividers and small hangers are added only with your approval, and we handle returns of anything unused.

When baby number two is on the way
A second baby often means converting the nursery to a toddler room and setting up a new nursery at once. We help plan both rooms, pull stored baby clothes back out and sort them by size and season, and decide what the older child is ready to pass down.
