Mountain's Edge is built for families, so we organize for them
Mountain's Edge is a master-planned community in the southwest Las Vegas Valley, south of Blue Diamond Road and west of I-15, with Exploration Peak Park at its heart and the Spring Mountains to the west. Most homes were built from the mid-2000s onward, many of them two-story production homes with open great rooms and attached two- or three-car garages.
Parks, trails and schools draw a lot of young families, which shapes what needs organizing. Kitchens are busy, toys spread out, backpacks land wherever the kids drop them, and the garage ends up holding bikes, scooters and sports bags.
Production floor plans also repeat certain features, such as a laundry room upstairs near the bedrooms and a loft that becomes a play area or homework space. Each of those spaces can be set up so it supports the routine instead of collecting overflow.
Start with the pantry and the snack drawer
A family pantry works when kids can find what they are allowed to take and adults can see what needs restocking. We group foods by type, put snacks in labeled bins at kid height, and move baking and bulk items higher.
A clear lunch-packing zone, with containers and lunch boxes in one place, cuts minutes off every school morning. Our pantry organization service and the guide to organizing a snack drawer for kids have more ideas.
Playrooms and kids' rooms that reset in ten minutes
The best playroom is one a child can tidy alone. That means fewer categories, open bins rather than lidded ones for young children, and labels with pictures for kids who are not reading yet. Toys not in current rotation go into storage, which keeps the room calmer and makes old toys feel new when they come back.
Kids' closets need to grow with them. We set rods at reachable heights, use bins for small items such as socks and swimwear, and set up a spot for outgrown clothes so they can be passed on or donated without piling up.
- Picture labels for pre-readers, word labels later
- Open bins for toddlers, lidded bins for older kids' collections
- A rotation shelf or bin in the garage or a closet
- An outgrown-clothes bin in each child's closet

Back to school and the drop zone by the garage door
In most Mountain's Edge floor plans the family comes and goes through the garage. A drop zone there, with a hook and a bin for each person, a place for shoes and a spot for school papers, keeps clutter out of the kitchen.
Late summer is a natural moment for a reset, since school starts in August in Clark County. Our back-to-school organization page covers how to prepare closets, homework spaces and the entryway.
Garage season, cost and getting here
Garages in southwest Las Vegas get far hotter than the outside air in summer, so we organize them from mid-October through April. Bikes, scooters and sports gear get wall-mounted storage, holiday decor goes on high shelves, and anything that heat can ruin, like crayons, candles, photos and paint, moves inside.
Mountain's Edge is reached easily from our Cadence studio along the 215. Focused projects such as a pantry start around $600 with a four-hour minimum, and a full day typically runs around $1,200. We source products where needed and return anything unused.
